A shopping mall is a modern, chiefly North American, term for a form of shopping precinct or shopping center, in which one or more buildings form a complex of shops representing merchandisers with interconnecting walkways that enable customers to walk from unit to unit. A shopping arcade is a specific form serving the same purpose.

1. Lulu Mall – Kochi

LuLu Mall is the largest shopping mall in India situated in the City of Kochi, India. Spanning 17 acres and with a total retail floor area of 1.7 million square feet. The mall was opened in March 2013 and contains more than 215 outlets including food courts, restaurants, family entertainment zones, a multiplex, ice skating rink and bowling alley. The estimated cost for this project is more than INR 16 billion. The property is owned and managed by Lulu Group.


2. Phoenix Market City – Mumbai

High Street Phoenix, formerly known as Phoenix Mills. It is one of the largest shopping malls in India, situated in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Its gross floor area is 3,300,000 square feet. In addition to the mall, the compound hosts a five-star hotel, a multiplex, commercial space and a residential tower. High Street Phoenix has more than 500 stores. India’s first Hyper market concept Big Bazaar was introduced in 2001 at High Street Phoenix.

3. Neptune Magnet Mall – Mumbai

Neptune Magnet Mall is a 1,056,000 square foot shopping mall in Bhandup, Mumbai, India. It is part of a 22-acre satellite township, Living Point, comprising 6 towers of 22 stories each being developed by Neptune Group. Neptune Magnet Mall is planned to be the first international standard shopping center in the city. The mall has been developed by Neptune Ventures & Developers with an investment of Rs 450 crore.

4. Phoenix Market City – Chennai

Phoenix Market City (Chennai) is a shopping mall developed by Phoenix Mills Limited located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was opened in January, 2013 and it’s the largest mall in the city. Phoenix mall has several national and international brands. It also houses electronic stores like Access, Reliance Digital, AIDS Hospital, Croma, Poorvika to name a few. Phoenix mall features a 11-screen multiplex by the name Luxe Cinemas from SPI Cinemas and also the chennai’s first IMAX theatre.

5. Mantri Square Mall – Bangalore

Mantri Square is a shopping mall situated in the Malleswaram locality in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Mantri square is one of the biggest malls in the country and one of the popular malls in the city. Facilities at the mantri square mall are Departmental stores, Spar hypermarket spread over 90,00 sq ft, 6-screen INOX multiplex, gaming centre and Food court.
